What do we get outta our relationships?

I'm thinking that for a friendship or a relationship to work, each person has to feel like they're getting something out of it. Be it guidance, someone to bounce ideas off of, food products, money, sex, or appreciation, in order for a friendship or a relationship to stay intact, each person has to fulfill a role for the other.

If one person feels like he's giving a lot, in whatever department, and not getting *something* back in return, it causes problems. Sometimes, that person creates a role for that other person to fill... even if it's not entirely positive.

I think, in my mind, I have made Eddie my "whipping boy." I don't know if this healthy, it kinda is mean, but it's how I deal with living with him. I tried the nice thing, but his general quietness led to him not outwardly showing much of anything of the stuff listed above. I tried to help him overcome some of the issues he might have, but it's like I'm spent. So now, I'm kinda stingy 'round him... and always put my self interests first. So either I'm spent, or just some kinda prick. Hmm.

Let's see, what else. I've been nursing from the bottle of gin Mike got for me (I'm paying him back today, finally!)... and the bottle has proven to be like a best friend... ha.

So I'm an alcoholic prick now. Ta da!

Good thing I don't believe that for a second.

Reason for Terror # 82:

Using phrase "da bomb" unwittingly in phone tapped conversations could lead to arrest and beatings by the FBI, local authorities, and hip police.

Reason for Terror # 81:

There was a little bit of mold on that bread you had this morning.

Reason for Terror # 80:

When evening falls, you can try to drive away; but the moon will be following... always following...
